The Opuntia ficus indica or known as the tuna (Prickly Pear, fig of India, higo chumbo or Barbary fig.) it is a fruit that comes from the prickly pear cactus, a plant family of the cactus. This plant is native to Mexico, but the passage of time it has been cultivated in different semi-arid regions of the world. The nopal plant is considered as a miracle plant for its abilities to survive for long periods without water, and even under these circumstances can produce a fruit that is healthy and juicy. The fruit of Prickly Pear contains numerous black seeds which are extracted from the precious oil Prickly Pear Seed Oil ®, or [SEED OIL prickly PEAR.]

Prickly Pear Seed Oil ® is one of the best oils for skin care available on the market.

The seed oil of tuna contains high levels of tocopherols (vitamin E) and essential fatty acids (linoleic acid or omega 6). This oil contains more tocopherol than any other oil on the market available in the industry of products for the care of the skin (almost 150% more tocopherol than argan oil). Tocopherols contain antioxidants and agents that protect against free radicals.

The process to obtain the final product: the oil, it is extremely long, as that is carried out manually, first washing, separating the seeds from the fruit, and then dried before starting the extraction pressure in the cold. Each seed contains only 5% of oil, so it takes almost 1/2 ton of seeds to produce just one liter of oil from the seed of tuna.

TRANSFORMATION

The production process of the seed oil prickly pear 100% natural and virgin is generated in three main steps: collection of tunas, separation of seeds and extracting the oil.

Once chosen tunas more suitable, manually, is desespinan carefully, remove the peel, remove the pulp and recover the seeds, washed and placed on a smooth surface within a dome of glass that is exposed to the sun. Finally, the seeds of the prickly pear are pressed in the cold in a machine that was designed exclusively for this process.
